training
We offer on-site small group training sessions in a variety of writing and editing topics, as well as one-on-one coaching. We have a staff member with more than 15 years of professional writing and editing experience in several fields, as well as teaching experience in the academic, corporate, and continuing education environments.
Training session topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Writing for business for groups or individuals needing a refresher in writing letters, memos, e-mails, and proposals
- Writing for Web sites and intranets
- Writing customer support documents and knowledgebase FAQs
- Writing product and system documentation (print and online)
- Editing newsletters, reports, proposals, and other publications
- Editing books and manuals
- Editing under time-crunched and/or resource-poor conditions
- Proofreading
Training sessions can be tailored to accommodate your specific needs, budget, and available time. Sessions feature a combination of instructor presentation and individual and collaborative hands-on exercises, and provide job aids that can be put to immediate use by your group. All sessions are designed with a common goal in mind: to help students hit the ground running yesterday.
Our company owner also has business and technical writing courses scheduled each semester with the continuing education programs at Gateway Community College (North Haven, CT) and Northwestern Connecticut Community College (Winsted, CT).
